The Mother and Child Centre project for the Futian district in Shenzhen reached a significant milestone on 26 November 2019 with the laying of the foundation stone of this international competition won in November 2018 for a planned delivery at end 2023.
Located in Futian, a very central district in Shenzhen and close to Hong Kong, in an area undergoing urban renewal, the project enjoys an exceptional site at the foot of the Antuo Shan mountain. With a total surface area of 140,000 m² for eight hundred beds, it has 24 floors (including four in the basement) and is 85 m tall.
This public institution for high-quality care for women and children also functions as a centre for medical diagnosis and prevention, as well as a teaching and research centre.
