[TRIBUTE] to Philippe Rondeau, architect and co-founder of AIA.
At the beginning of the 1960s, architects Philippe Mornet, Philippe Rondeau and René Burgade, subsequently joined by engineers Yves Gelusseau and Philippe Bizet, called on the world of architecture and project management to reinvent itself.
Together, and taking their inspiration from Anglo-Saxon models, they had this vision and ambition to create a multi-discipline agency uniting architects and engineers and, beyond that, all the professions required for the act of building.
Thus, the AIA (Associated Architects and Engineers) agency was born after the departure of Philippe Mornet a few years later in 1973.
Since then, AIA Life Designers has come a long way, integrating many different professions into a close-knit group, practising shared architecture, in the initial spirit of its founders, based on the deep-rooted values of teamwork, respect, commitment and solidarity.
Philippe Rondeau practised as an architect with enthusiasm and passion. He always endeavoured to serve his project owner clients, by giving them sound advice which led to a level of quality and excellence in his projects that contributed hugely to the reputation of AIA.
All the AIA Life Designers employees and associates, proud of carrying on this heritage, pay tribute to Philippe Rondeau and his wife Françoise, both of whom died on 28 March, and show their full support for their family.
Olivier de La Barre,
Chairman of AIA Life Designers.
