We deem that education and research should be open and decompartmentalised. Educational buildings should convey an urban and social spirit conducive to the evolution of methods of learning and of ways of living together in society. Different architectural approaches enable novelty via the porosity and diversity of programmes they can hold, but also via their potential public outreach. The major role attributed to purpose and user within our projects drives us to think out of the box in terms of space, but also to invent new typologies and practices pertaining to flows, interstices, quality of halls, versatility of rooms, as well as portability of knowledge and work. Thus, we seek to spatialise new social organisations and methods of pooling. This approach tells a lot about the way we think about project: we work as an extended group, inviting advisers into our office in order to collect their contribution, but also welcome the input of external figures belonging to the world of education. In that spirit, we are looking to develop a scalable and shared culture, conducive to the evolution of education within a town, with a focus on youth wellbeing and fulfilment.
